Second, I can still be considered a newb, since LIVE's hay day was my intensive college years and I never made it past level 30.

So I am very much looking forward to SOD and being part of the community.

Welcome!! Yes, consider yourself a bit noobish. The SoD content is totally different than Live. To your advantage you have a good grasp on how to play. However, we have many differences in mechanics. To familiarize yourself, you should look at the SOD Wiki.
Remember to read the Main Quest story books you get, they will start you off in knowing the Lore.

Look for Arjuna lvl 14 War or Quistus (Arjuna's shadow) lvl6 cleric. We'll group up.
