sounds like you did everything right.. make sure when you run EQW.exe that the "Run Patch Program" box is UNchecked.. Also, defrag .. I know it sounds weird to have it cause a problem like this.. but after installing 3+ Gigs of data it is likely fragmented some.. that can cause many...
