Better late than never I guess... When you get to the EULA screen (the rules) the default option is -Decline- so when you just hit enter you are basically saying you don't agree to the rules. You can either click on -I Agree- or hit tab, enter.

You can actually donate as much or as little as you like, you don't have to go with one of the preset amounts. For example, if you chose to donate 15 euros instead of 8 (gold) you can, though you would only get gold and silver benefits from it.
