The DoT on the mob and the recourse on you/party might not be connected at all. So even if the DoT crits the recourse not necessarily heals the crit amount. It's a separate buff with the same duration. Just thinking aloud here, might be totally different really.

I suspect you refer to the drop for the neco thurg quest. I had no luck at all in WPL with that drop, didn't see too many asps there. Only in EPL did I find an asp that drops it.
