Actually gnomes (even noobs) can jump out of the pool just fine. It does take some practice and patience. I fell into it on my wizard and spent 30 mins figuring it out. Protip: Don't hold forward... tap it next to the wall. Also make sure you at the top of the water (ie holding page up).
