New pseudo contest!
Welcome to the first annual SoD account blitz! This is a new type of account drive that we will be trying out this year that gives YOU a chance to earn substantial amounts of fame for relatively little effort.
Basically the game is as follows. We ask you to post about SoD (or even just mention SoD) in forums that you visit regularly including your SoD character name. Over the next two weeks we will be watching the links in to www.shardsofdalaya.com to get an idea of who is coming into the site from where. If you make an impact you get rewarded in fame - that simple. You can post on as many sites as you can as long as it is *legal for you to talk about sod according to their rules*. We do not want to push ourselves into places we are not welcome - this goes especially for the official live forums. There is a line between spamming and spreading the word and this is something that you will need to use your best judgment on.
At the end of the two weeks we will have a bonus exp week as a celebration for the account drive. The bonus will be anywhere from 10-75% depending on how well the drive does.
This is the first account drive we have had in over a year and we are truly hoping that we can get some nice fresh faces. Here are a few links for media you can use in your campaign:
I am leaving this thread open so that people can post and discuss their efforts to make this drive a success. Understand that the fame we are giving out will be based on effort, links in, new accounts - basically just show us that you are truly trying to get the SoD name out there and we will reward you and the rest of the server for your efforts. The name of the game is forum posts but we will be rewarding for anything especially if its clever.
Good luck! Hopefully we can net another hundred or so people average a night after this is done!
Edit: As an extra incentive we will be having a special lotto at the end of the drive for a Lucky Charm of Power. Anyone who participates and posts their exploits here (include your character name!) will be in the drawing on August 13th! To qualify for the charm drawing you must show that you put a reasonable amount of effort (a few minutes at least) helping promote SoD. One drawing per RL person but new guys are just as welcome to post(come on domino effect!!!).That is all there is to it! Happy promoting!
We are having some problems so I am going to restate this - DO NOT post anywhere that has rules against this sort of thing! Please please please check before posting or your entry not only wont count but also will put a damper on peoples image of the server. To be absolutely clear: WE ARE NOT TRYING TO SPAM FORUMS THAT YOU DO NOT FREQUENT AND WILL BE UNRECEPTIVE OF ANYONE POSTING (Such as EQEmu). IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A FORUM THAT YOU FREQUENT DO NOT DO A GOOGLE SEARCH. You can still join the campaign by blogging, commenting, subscribing to our videos, talking to your friends etc..
