Missing mss32.dll is Still an issue

I am new to the game and have been trying off and on for a couple of years to download and play SoD. I played EQ for years and it is still on my computer, I have used the SoD patcher with all of the variants on it. I have used the Patchfiles Direct download. Been at this for two days straight now and keep getting the same message of "missing mss32.dll file" On Facebook, I messaged and was informed that this is not an issue that "that" admin has ever heard of, so it was probably fixed in 2007. HELP Please.

Oozu's workaround seems like a really weird way to fix it. But it's maybe worth a try.

This issue looks to be a more general Windows hardware issue more than anything specific to SoD. If you search the internet there are a ton of suggestions, here are some that look promising:

Thanks, have been looking for weeks. When I looked up simply missing mss32.dll file the number of games listed was astounding. TY
 
Personally I would just save any Character .Ini files delete/remove the entire game then start over. Use the SoD Wiki Starting guide to re-install. Re-patch all to SoD and it should run fine.
