Murk faction quest samples

Just curious if anyone has did this quest of late? I have cleared the lake I would say for a couple hours a day off and on for the last two weeks. I have not seen one piranha sample. I talk to others about it and they say they got both samples on one clear. Just wondering if it just bad luck or they just don't drop now for some reason? Thx. I will keep clearing it.
 
I did this quest a few days ago and probably got my two samples from 4-5 piranhas. I'm sure you're just having bad luck from the 'Random Number Generator.'
 
I went back to the quest giver and talked to him. They dropped for me after that. Thx for the help.
