After running the SOD patcher EQ will not run because it says there are two DLL files missing which should not be and are not part of the EQ directory so the patcher should not have touched them but somehow they were affected.
I fixed it and thought it was just me but my friend messaged on facebook and said he could not log in after patching either, so this is presumably going to happen to more people.
I am on Windows 10 x64 Professional
He is on Windows 7 x64 Professional
So unfortunately we can't just blame it on Windows 10 lol
I still had a client open and originally thought that messed it up... but...
He did NOT have a client open and had the same error!
So scratch that.
Edit: We are both using the Steam Client as well
I hope this is useful for finding out what the problem is.
THE ERROR
MSVCP140.DLL and one other DLL are missing (forgot name, already fixed so cant check error). The error is something like "Code failed to excecute because these DLL's are missing"
EQ will not run if these are not present on the system.
THE FIX
Reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable, both x64 and x86 packages include the required system DLLs. Do not try to download the DLLs from random sources and dump into sys32 - you can get them here directly from microsoft safely
