Texture Weirdness

@Rattenstien This problem arises because Verant was weird and inconsistent and decided to load skeleton head and crotch texture pieces from gequip5.s3d ("Global Equipment 5") while loading the chest, arms, hands, legs, feet, and animations from global_chr.s3d ("Global Characters"). Makes total sense, right?! :rolleyes:

Modern EQ files only include a version of gequip5.s3d intended for use with the awful Luclin skeleton model, whereas the classic skeleton has been restored for SoD. What's needed is a custom version of gequip5.s3d that includes classic skeleton head/crotch texture pieces in place of the Luclin ones. Deleting this file will result in you breaking several dozen Luclin- and PoP-era weapons, so that isn't an option.

Anyway, I've cobbled together a fix that should go into effect in the coming days. If you or anyone else would like access to the fix now, here's a quick how-to:
  1. Within your SoD directory, rename the following file like so:
    • gequip5.s3d > gequip5.s3d.bak
  2. If the following file exists, delete it:
    • gequip5.wld.txc
  3. Download the following file:
  4. Open the newly downloaded Classic Skeleton Head Crotch Fix.zip.
  5. Copy (CTRL + C) the file gequip5.s3d from inside the .zip folder and paste (CTRL + V) it into your SoD directory.
  6. Load a fresh instance of the game and see if it worked.
