The 8800 graphics card issue

what exactly is the bug you guys are talking about? When I'm attacking in first person view with my melee characters, it looks like i get the view of my character from inside his body and the graphics are all shreaded up as he attacks. i haven't seen any other errors thusfar.. (running dual 8800ultras for reference)

that is it exactly, u just explained it better then i did lol...

oh.. sad to see there isn't a fix for this because it actually does bother me and makes melee fighting unenjoyable...

Well I just replaced my 8800 GT with a 9600GT hoping to fix this issue but it is still there so it isn't a 8XXX only issue, it also happens with newer cards it seems.

I have no graphic problems using Nvidia 8x series cards (PCI-e), but I run in Ubuntu Linux so it could very well be a Windows driver issue.

It wouldn't be the first time nVidia's Windows drivers have had problems. There are a few other games I know of that have various troubles because of the drivers. In fact, one of them is Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

So basically, a fault from the biggest graphics manufacturer, with their latest and most expensive cards, with a Microsoft game on a Microsoft OS. *slaps forehead*

I have this glitch, as well as UI lag when opening/closing windows and picking up/dropping items from my inventory on this newer laptop, but everything works completely fine on an older computer. The glitch is not on a computer with NVIDIA 8/9 series:

Laptop:
Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB, Intel X3100 integrated graphics, Vista 64-bit
EQ installed via EQ Titanium
First-person glitches: Yes
3D target ring works?: Yes
UI lag when moving items or opening windows?: Yes

Desktop:
AMD Duron 1.0 GHz, 256 MB, NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440, XP 32-bit
EQ installed via EQ Titanium
First-person glitches: No
3D target ring works?: Yes
UI lag when moving items or opening windows?: No

Maybe the glitches are a Vista 64-bit or dual-core cpu problem?

It's already known that multi-cpu computers may experience GFX issues. Selecting the CPU affinity in the patcher may help.:monocle:

I have a 8800 GTS and have the same issue. It doesn't bother me a whole lot, except when I get near boats. Textures from the boat expload everywhere. I took the boat from Newport, and had to stay perfectly still because I couldn't tell where it ended.

there use to be some third party drivers that fixed alot of funky bugs as well preform better if i can remember what it is ill post them, (first ill test it cus i have a 8800 GT that everything is normal except when am attacking i cant see my target cus am like inside my own body

you are thinking of omega drivers which stopped releasing for nvidea a while ago

These drivers didn't fix the problem for me.

By all means the game is still playable, I just get some graphical glitches when attacking in first person and the boats.

wow, i'm glad i found this thread, i thought i was the only one, if someone ever finds a fix please DO TELL
